Ronnie Rig
What you will need.
Hook of your choice
Braid/fluorocarbon of your choice
Quick change swivel
Bait screw/swivel
Heat shrink
Grip stops (hook bead)
Size 8 Swivel
Crimps (optional)
Take your hook & a 15mm piece of heat shrink & pop the heat shrink onto hook.
Place your quick change swivel onto the eye of the hook by threading it through.
Slide down the heat shrink over the eye of the hook & half way up the quick change swivel. Now steam down with the steam from a kettle.
Slide your bait screw/swivel onto your hook ready to mount your hook bait at the end.
Slide on your hook stop inline with barb down from the point of the hook.
This part of the rig is now complete and should look like this.
Now for the hook length section, for this we will be using Fluorocarbon and crimps.
Cut your desired length of material ( taking what you are fishing over into account, which will determine the length ) & put through one side of crimp.
Pop on your Ronnie rig by passing the hook link through the big eye swivel & back round through the other side of crimp, form a small loop then it crimp down.
Crimp the other end of your rig in exactly the same way as the last step to your size 8 swivel at your desired length.
Screw on your chosen bait & add some rig putty if needed over the swivel of the hinged section. This will weight your pop-up down if its to buoyant for the rig.
The rig is now complete.
