It has been a busy few weeks in the UK Carp Champs, with matches taking place in both Pairs and Singles competitions.

Pairs qualifier – Sitch: Colin Scott and Andrew Mundy took the win with a total weight of 141lb 2oz, helped by the capture of a 45lb 2oz mirror by Colin, which was also a new personal best. The forty was one of five fish caught by Colin and Andrew, all falling to Spotted Fin Catalyst hookbaits. Second place was taken by Steven Brown and Bryan Houghton on 102½lb, third went to Joseph Sallis and Dave Brazier on 54lb 10oz, while the final qualification spot went to Chris Donavan and Darren Pearse on 47lb 6oz.

Pairs qualifier – Thorney Weir: Gareth Evans and Simon Buckman dominated proceedings, landing 16 fish for a total weight of 270lb 11oz. Second place went to Jason Verney and Mark Jarvis, who took five fish for a final weight of 90lb. Paul Ockenden and Lawrence Goldsmith had four for 64lb 10oz, which was enough for third place, while Ryan Bettell and Robert Snowdon took fourth on three fish for 52lb 1oz.

Pairs qualifier – Willow Park: Thomas Nixon and Adam Shea came out on top in a tight match, landing 13 fish for a final weight of 209lb 1oz, which was enough to beat Bruce Larg and Mark Strevens, who caught 12 fish for 174lb 11oz. Third place went to James Anderson and Dave Hellard, who bagged nine fish for a final weight of 143lb 3oz, while Martin Noble and Kia Sanger finished fourth on 95lb 7oz.

Singles qualifier – Cottington Pepper Lake: A challenging match in difficult conditions produced just six fish to six different anglers. Owen Sayles took the win thanks to a 34lb 6oz mirror, and Rob Tough also secured a spot in the final courtesy of a 34lb 2oz mirror.

Singles – Newlands Hall: The ever-consistent Rob Burgess had an extremely busy weekend, landing 69 fish for a combined weight of 717lb 13oz to take the victory. Also progressing through to the final was Charlie Coppolo, who caught 43 fish for 448lb 2oz.

Singles – Orchard Place Farm Lake 8: In a match that produced 36 fish, Dan Mason had 22 of them to record a comfortable victory on 157lb 11oz. Warren Atkinson and Nik Young both caught during the 48 hours, but it was Warren who progressed in second place with the greater combined weight of 65lb 14oz.
