Bev Clifford and northern carping legend Brian Skoyles were amongst the volunteers at the latest Spring Into Fishing event on the Brough complex in East Yorkshire.
The initiative run by the Angling Trust and funded by the Environment Agency was set up as a completely free-of-charge way of introducing youngsters and adults alike to the sport of angling in a friendly environment.
All tackle, bait and instruction were provided and lots of fish were caught around the complex, from roach and bream to pike and carp. All the youngsters went away happy and laden down with tackle and magazines for their trouble.
Further details about the Spring Into Fishing initiative, including dates of future events, are available on the www.getfishing.org.uk website.
