Steve Greenshields and Chris Hancock produced a surprise victory in the second RAF Carp Team event of the year, after coming out last in the draw at Willow Park.
Fishing the Big Lake on the Hampshire venue, Steve and Chris got off to a flying start, landing 10 fish for 183lb after the first night. The activity slowed down thereafter, but the duo’s final weight of 218lb 7oz was enough to give them the win over Lee Hasbury and Alfie Waters on 183¼lb, and Richard Cooke and Adam Spiller on 133lb 2oz.
Overall the match turned up 76 fish for a combined weight of more than 1200lb. There are three matches of the series remaining to determine who represents the RAF in next year’s British Carp Angling Championships.
