The seventh staging of the Carping4Heroes weekend is just a couple of months away, and organisers are encouraging as many people as possible to join in the fun.
This year’s event has been moved to Cudmore Fisheries in Staffordshire, after outgrowing its former home of Manor Farm in Bedfordshire, and will take place over the weekend of 23rd-25th June. The highlight of the event will be a 24-hour match contested between dozens of anglers representing teams from the armed forces. There will also be a social event on the Friday night, featuring live music, food and drink, as well as a Q&A session, barbeque and raffle on the Saturday evening, all of which are free to attend.
Carping4Heroes has so far raises more than £50,000 for Help for Heroes, Combat Stress and Forces CARP. This year it will also raise money for the family of Lance Corporal Scott Hetherington, who was killed on duty in Iraq in January.
