Buckinghamshire day-ticket venue Farlows Lake will host a fundraising weekend later this summer after it was revealed the mum of Wayne Mansford, one of the fishery’s most prolific anglers, has been diagnosed with terminal cancer.
It is hoped the weekend-long event will go some way to raising the £36,000 required to get Wayne’s mum, Jacqui, the treatment that will help prolong her life and control the cancer.
The match will take place over the weekend of 11-13th August, with the match beginning at 7.30pm on the Friday and concluding at 10am on the Sunday. There will also be a barbecue and live music at Heron’s Point on the Saturday evening, and a raffle and auction following the match on Sunday, helping to raise as much money as possible.
Places in the match are already booked up, but non-anglers are welcome to attend the social gathering on the Saturday evening. Donations can be made at www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/waynemansford, and further information about the event is available on the ‘Farlows Fundraiser and Charity Social’ Facebook page.
