The highly popular French holiday complex, Crete Lakes, recently held a match across the entirety of its complex.
A total of 23 pairs of anglers competed in the four-week long match across several lakes. Early on, Rob Burgess and Steve Blow took the lead fishing in peg three on Lake One and by the Monday morning everyone thought that first place was all but decided. However, a surge of fish for Karl Palmer and Neil Rivers saw them take the lead. Palmer and Rivers kept the lead right through to the end and finished on a huge 3126lb 2oz. Steve Blow and Rob Burgess took second place with 2374¾lb and Martin Brown and Paul Ockendon took third with 1404lb 1oz. Across the fishery, the match produced five sixties and 49 fifties.
