We would all like to pass on our congratulations to the six anglers who guided Team Carp-Talk to victory in the team event of the British Carp Angling Championships.
Team Carp-Talk’s third team title was secured in dramatic fashion in the two remaining semi-finals at Brasenose 1 and Brasenose 2 on the Linear Fisheries complex, Oxfordshire. Second places for both Kev Grout and Luke Church on B1 and Kia Sanger and Jack Stamp on B2 were enough to give the team victory by a single point over the Mainline RAF outfit, a win that had looked unlikely when Ash Taylor and Rob Julyan failed to progress from a challenging qualifier at Sandhurst in May.
It is Team Carp-Talk’s first victory in the team event since 2014 and, with two of the three pairs set to take part in September’s final on Wraysbury 1, there could be more celebrations yet to come.
