Create a better fishery: Book now for the Angling Trust’s Development Roadshows
The Angling Trust will be running five development roadshows across the country to provide tips and guidance to clubs and fisheries wishing to improve their facilities and deliver better, safer, more enjoyable angling.
These afternoon events, delivered in partnership with the Environment Agency and funded from fishing licence income, are open to any angling organisation – big or small – and are free to attend. So, if you are a club, fishery, council, charity or angling project with big ambitions please come along.
And it’s not just about freshwater angling! If your main interest is sea angling you will find lots of useful information on offer, too.
The itinerary will feature talks by the Institute of Fisheries Management (IFM), English Federation of Disability Sport (EFDS) and the Angling Trust. The British Disabled Angling Association (BDAA) will also be on hand to answer your questions on facilities and access for disabled people. Topics will include:
- Creating an Angling Development Plan
- Making Effective Funding Applications
- Creating an Inclusive Fishery
- Safeguarding – Enjoyable and Safe Angling for All
- Planning and Delivering Your Improvement Project
- Making the Most of Your Volunteers
- Working Safely at Your Fishery
- Exploiting Social Media to the Full
The roadshows have been organised by Rick Warner, National Angling Strategy Manager for the Angling Trust, who said:
“Feedback from last year’s grant-writing workshops indicated a considerable appetite among clubs and fisheries for this type of training event. This new series of roadshows, funded from fishing licence income, will offer a thorough introduction to (or helpful refresher on) some key issues affecting angling development and fishery improvement projects. If you are looking to improve your fishery or club waters and attract new anglers, we’d urge you to attend. We hope to run additional roadshows in other parts of the country in 2018.”
The events start at 1pm with lunch on arrival and will finish by 6pm.
