Terry Edmonds has become the first person in history to record an overhead cast in excess of 250 yards with a carp rod, after chucking a 4½oz lead 254 yards, a distance which was officially measured on a flat field.
Terry said: “To be the first person to officially record a 250-plus-yard overhead chuck is as good as it gets for me. I can now spend more time fishing without the need to strive for more distance. I believe at the moment this could be a world record, unless proved otherwise.”
Terry used 0.25mm mono main line with a 65lb braided leader, along with a Windcast reel and a 13ft Harrison spod rod, to achieve the distance. He added: “If somebody beats this in the future, good luck to them; I will be on the bank or teaching!”
