Our 10-acre lake is set in the heart of nature and is fully stocked with a comfortable number and selection of carp, including mirror, common, grass, leather and koi varieties. At the last count, our stock resided at around 280 carp ranging in weight from the mid 20’s to well over the magical 60lb barrier.
Since we bought this beautiful lake in December 2011, we are proud to have nurtured it to become the ultimate fishing water and certainly one of the best in the region. The lake has been an established carp fishing waters since 1998 so we had a great head start.

In addition to our fully stocked lake, we have thought of everything you need while fishing and all within a short walk away or situated at every swim. This means you can simply turn up, set up and be reassured that you won’t need to leave your equipment for more than a few minutes to grab some refreshments, have a quick shower or enjoy a bite to eat in our dining lodge.
All the essentials when and where you need them
Every swim around the lake is served by WiFi and power, perfect if you need to recharge your phone or check Google for the latest weather or catch up on your favorite program! Our shower block has hot running water and we also have a locker room for you to store your belongings safely. Our snack shop is stocked with essentials like sandwiches, crisps, drinks and chocolate, while our dining lodge is perfect for sharing tales with other guests about the one that was “this big” or the one that got away.
All this and tackle, too
Of course, it wouldn’t be fair of us to offer all of these facilities and then make you drive miles to find good quality tackle. That’s why we ensure our on-site tackle shop is stocked with all the essentials from big names like Korda, Nash, Solar and Ridge Monkey. We also have freezers available for storing bait.

THE PERFECT FRENCH CARP FISHING HOLIDAY!
Flores where to begin? The last two years I have visited this beautiful lake and truly get more impressed with every visit.
The trip is made so easy with the scheduled pick up points for collection, mine is always the Ship and Anchor in Portsmouth where you can have something to eat and few beers for the journey.
Once the Flores bus arrives and you start to load this is where the excitement truly starts, be sure to ask the drivers how they would approach the lake alternatively keep your ears open for the hints and tips they have to offer.
The ferry journey begins with the 2 minute drive to Portsmouth ferry terminal and you being on your way to France, making use of the late bar as after all you are on holiday Haha again if you wish to be fully refreshed for the long day ahead make your way to your room for the night all included in the price.
Yoh dock early morning in Caen and even the tiredness and hangovers cant curb your enthusiasm to get to lake. You make the couple of hour drive through the beautiful French countryside to arrive at the lake as soon as you step foot of the bus you are greeted with a full view of the stunning lake that will be your home for the next week.
Julie and Dan are straight out to give you an amazing welcome with there lovely pet dogs and cats all excited to see the new crop off anglers. Julie and Dan are an absolute credit to Flores and your trip would not be as special if it wasn’t for these guys from Dan’s knowledge and passion to Julie’s personal and cooking skills!
It all comes together to make this a great experience, two extremely high quality meals per day with lunch being available for a small fee. Breakfast and lunch can be brought to your swim if you’re hauling but it always nice to catch back up at breakfast and dinner and have the craic with the rest of the guys.
As for the fishing you begin with a walk around the lake make sure you are fully in fishing mode here as choosing the wrong peg can lead to a tough weeks fishing, look for the carp as you would in UK, carp boshing out the water, fizzing and carp taring up the silt lake bed. Keep a note in your phone or pen and paper with your desired choice of pegs, usually pick 2 or 3 as you may not come out the hat before your favourite has gone.
Once you have drawn your peg approach it just like you would in the UK, keep things simple and if you’re not on the fish don’t fill the bait in, simple rigs accounted for nearly all of the fish on my trips with KD’s and Spinner rigs being the most effective.
The week is helped to fly by thanks to the lovely home comforts such as the wifi in each pegs, immaculate shower and toilet blocks and the stocked vending machines.
I have booked up to visit again in 2020 and lookig forward just as much as the first time, the effort and money Dan, Julie and Alan have put in over the last few years has been remarkable to create what I believe is the perfect French carp fishing holiday! ?
We have visited this lake twice now in the past 4 years, good head of fish and the owners look after you. Good venue for a weeks fishing. Just make sure to take loads of bait 😉
