Gardner Tackle Reviews
Gardner Tackle has been manufacturing quality carp fishing and specialist fishing tackle for 40 years. Founded in 1980 and as one of the original carp tackle companies we have been at the head of carp angling innovation and design. We are still a family run business and the ethos of producing ground-breaking carp fishing tackle that is high quality and reliable has never been diluted. Every member of the company lives and breathes all things carp fishing related. From the moment we wake (and even while we sleep!) carp and their capture are at the forefront of our minds. This translates itself into the continual development and refining of our carp focused product ranges. And with a dedicated carp fishing team, that includes some of the most well respected carp anglers in the country, you can be sure that each product has been tested to the extreme and meets the exacting standards that we strive for.

After a long search, bought the Gardner Tackle Pop-Up/Bait Bag as it fits in my rucksack so is ideal for short or mobile sessions. Filled the supplied tubs with hook bait and plugs, got to the lake … and found a big mess in the bag. The threads are too weak on the pots and the tops come off. Even if they stay on they leak. Reported this to Gardner, chased for nearly a month for an answer, their response was “the pots that are supplied with the bag are not designed to carry any liquids”. Badly designed and not fit for purpose more like.
The Gardner Ultra Skin is some of the best coated braid I have ever used!
It has Matt coating and strips easily with knot strength never being an issue.
Comes in several breaking strains my personal choice is the 20m spool in 35lb.
It has never let me down.
Really pleased with all the tackle i’ve brought from gardner, the mugga and longshank mugga hooks are strong and sticky sharp. The only problem is getting hold of thier gear to buy most tackle shops don’t stock a full range, not even online.
